T Sport Fan Heater

Hi All,

Does anyone else think that the Fan Heater in the car is rubbish or is there a fault with the one in my car. Its an 02 plate pre-facelift car but when I whack up the fan to maximum there is very little air coming out of the vents. This is causing a problem on the warmer days as I just don't feel cool enough in the car when the air con is on. All the vents are open!

I've turned the air con off and there just doesn't feel enough air coming out of the vents.

Will I need to get this checked out at the next service?

Its osunds like your filter is a bit clogged. There is a pollen filter on the car as standard (i think). If its playing up best get it checked sooner rather than later cause you don't know what horrible yuck your breathing in

had the car checked out today regarding the Air Con system and its not the pollen filter or air con gas. The mechanic said its to do with the compressor for the fan heater. Looks like its a job for Mr Toyota.

Booked the car in for a diagnostic check at the local Toyota Garage on the 12th June to find out what the problem is. This is charged at £55 + VAT. Expensive!

Will let everyone know the outcome once its completed!

Reliable car so far apart from this problem. Anyone else out there with something similar?

That's the same as my dad's Corolla Colour Collection. His air con is freezing cold and the air coming out of the vents is so much faster than mine even on the lowest setting. This prompted me to get it checked out with Toyota.

The compressor thing I assume is all part of the fan heater/radiator.

How do I check the pollen filter on the car? I don't even know where its located. Might save myself some money by having a look at this first.

The compressor is fitted to the engine and is belt driven,it circulates the A/C refridgerant aroudn the system.

The pollen filter is located behind the glove box.

Cheers! Checked this morning and the pollen filter is black! Ventilation System now working great without the filter in. Will get a replacement filter from Toyota Asap. Saved myself the checkup charge of £55 plus Vat. Looks like the air con guy from my local garage didn't bother to check the pollen filter the monkey!

Pollen filter is about £24 from Toyota. Mine was disgusting when I changed it. Full of leaves and everything! Looked like it was made of metal aswell with all the muck, my girlfriend even told me the new filter wasn't right 'cause it wasn't made of metal!!

Yep just brought a new filter for the exact price of £24.06 from Hodgson Toyota at the silverlink in North Tyneside. Air Con and fan heater now working perfectly!

Thanks for all the replies!
