Nearside Bumper Replacement

Hi

I was wondering if anyone knew if the rear bumper was one piece, or if it was in 3 peices which is how it looks.

I need to know as some nice person decided to reverse into my car, and dented the near side rear bumper.

Also if anyone has an idea of price I would be very grateful

:)

I have had that part replaced recently if it is the same part! you will need to post a picture of the damage and i will be able to say for definite if it is the same part. I paid between £90 and a £100 pounds for the rear quarter bumper and had to pay more for it to be sprayed and fitted, hope this helps. These parts sometimes are sold on eBay but you have to be lucky as it is not that often.

One of the problems I've found with "body coloured" bumpers is that it can cost more for spraying than the part itself - so getting one cheaper from eBay and then getting it sprayed at a local bodyshop could be quite a saving - assuming you don't then have to take it to a dealer to be fitted. If the dealer has to do part of the work, it's sometimes cheaper to let them do the rest.

As an example, when my previous Freelander needed new tyres the LR dealer, who were carrying out the 48k service, supplied and fitted four Synchrones for less than any of the local tyre shops were quoting.

I found a huge scrape down the rear end of the bumper when I came out of Tescos !, thought I would nip along to The dealer pick up a new piece and put it on. Couldn’t believe the price they quoted for the part and spraying it. They said that plastics could be filled and sprayed and would be ok so went to a trusted body shop (the same one the dealer uses) and it was half the price to have it filled and spayed. I couldn’t tell the difference!.

Hope this helps

Paul

thanks for all your help. The dent has actually popped itself out, and all I am left with is a crack, so hopefully won't be to much to get sorted. :D
