hi all ,

ive just bought a year 2002 3dr T-Sport, i knew i'd like the car because my wife has a 5dr, the only thing thats niggling me is when you let people in the back the passenger seat slides forwards to make getting in easier but the drivers doesn't, is this because it the drivers seat of because its broken

cheers :D

i think your seat may be the problem. on my 3 door both seats can tilt and move forward.

That's weird. On my 53 plate the seat just tilts and doesn't slide (both passenger and driver!). It even says in the manual if you want easier access to the back to slide the seat forward first!

It might be so you don't have to find your seating position again on the driver's seat.

The passenger seat tilts and slides in the same motion. The driver's side doesn't. That's the way it's supposed to be.

there is no foot pedal thing on my corolla for drivers side, its safety i guess, but not my passenger seat is broken i think because it tilts but now doesn't slide like it used to :(

I had a 3 door T3 before my 5 door SR (sportier looking car, more doors, odd)! As has been said already, the passenger seat is designed to slide forward, but for safety reasons the drivers seat only tips forward and must be moved forward using the 'bar' underneath. Imagine driving along and a rear passenger accidently (or intentionally knowing some of my mates) pushes the leaver!

Errr so is my passenger seat supposed to slide then?

Because even in the manual it says it doesn't! Is it maybe something they changed in 2003 or something?

i apologise for giving you a false alarm then....

however i was pretty sure my driver's seat can both tilt and slide. maybe the seats are different, since i have a colour collection not a t-sport or else i am the one who has a problem with the seat not you

just checked mine again, my driver's seat definitely tilts and slides just like the passenger seat, no difference between the two seats. so it's not that i was going crazy

Well, i hav a 2005 T Sport and my drivers seats tilts and goes forward aswell, after reading this, it seems like all the facelift models tilt and go forward whereas the pre-facelift ones dnt seem to go forward

both mine slide, but the drivers side does not go back to where it was if that makes sense. i have it all the way back. if i use the tilt and slide i have to use the lever under the seat to push it all the way back.

My old T-sport (2003 3-Door) did exactly the same thing - either its a design fault or someone at the factory forgot to fit a nut and bolt somewhere or something?!
