Hi all,

Just joined, looking for some info :-)

I have recently bought an Avensis 53 D-4D 2.0lt

Am very happy with it, had a V reg avensis before, but this is in another class !!

Only got one niggle. in the old Avensis, i put the blowers on maximum and it was like a hurricane coming out of the vents. in the new one, its barely a breeze.

is this normal ?

If the face vents are selected, then it's more than a breeze.

I had a similar problem on my 04 T3x with hardly any air blowing through when on maximum. It turned out to be a blocked/dirty pollen filter - when it was replaced the blowers blasted through nicely. The Toyota dealer - B & M motors in Amersham only charged £20 to replace as it was already in to have the air con re gassed.

As said above, it is most likely to be a blocked pollen filter.

If you remove the glove box you will see the heater box with a removable plastic cover. Remove this and just pull the filter out, its probably covered in bits of leaves etc. You can either clean it out or better still fit a new one. Easy enough to sort out.
