I had the pleasure not once but twice and I think its the same one as its a demonstrator from the local Ford dealership.

They see my t sport in the rear mirror and at this point the salesman gives the driver some patter saying that the ST is much faster so the driver floors it as it'll leave me for dust but once I hit the lift it's got no chance! A number of times its tried to get away but once the lift kicks in the ST is just a small blip in the rear view mirror as I shoot pass him.

Guess they must miss the tiny T Sport Badge on the front Grill.

The ST really has no chance, its only a warm hatch.

I would say around a track, that result is entirely down to the sorry state of the T-Sport's suspension.

i was a ford girl through and through , test drove a couple of st and omg i was sooo disapointed , it had no get up and go! i woulda been bored driving it after a day i think ! , inside is more boring then ever too . simply was no match . and why out of a 2l engine have mr ford only for 150 bhp ? seems there was some potential lost huh

the ST is pretty good until you hit lift, so thats basically until you hit 40mph it might give be level.

once lift has kicked in, there is no comparison - in a straight line.

Round the twisty stuff the fact the ST is lighter and has 17" wheels and a shorter wheelbase might make it more of a match.

my 2p's worth.
