Prolex is also a member on these forums. From memory (and mine isn't that great) I seem to remember saying it would take somewhere between 30-40hours of labour to fit and tune properly, so on top of the cost of buying it, you have to factor in an extra £2k @(assuming £50/hour) for a mechanic to actually fit it.

Now I have no idea if that time estimate is accurate, but if it is, then the cost of ti all is about the same as the price difference between a T-Sport and a Compressor, and you get a fair bit more car for your money with the Compressor.

Mac12, you weren't down near Liverpool Street yesterday were you? Someone in a Blue CTS drove past me as I was waiting to cross the road.

in my opinion u're better off selling your t-sport and getting a compressor, since as minimarc said, you do get more car for the money, and i like to think that no matter how well someone fits it and tunes it for you, if it was there from the beginning it'll always be better.

Thats absolutely true!

Im sure theres much more work to do as well to make sure the car is stable with that extra power.

Its a little like engine conversions, its always best to sell and buy the car that that power already has that power and the equipment to handle it.

Thats a shame, I've not managed to spot anyone on the roads that will admit to being a member on these forums yet. It was a young east asian fella (early 20s I'd guess) with a brother/friend in the passenger seat driving an 02 reg blue cts.

As for me, I work in the Gherkin (less than 5 minutes walk from Liverpool Street) and live near watford during the week and banbury at weekends.

Cool mate,

But im further down - South East London, a bit away from Watford and Banbury..

Was you on Astrasport.co.uk by any chance?

Maybe we should have flyers and when you see another Corolla parked up or something we can let them know of this club.

Gather the masses!

I rarely see CTSs down here, mainly old people driving Corollas.

Alot of other cars might think CTS is weak...but ill show them some VVTLI power....

Ok this is gone a bit off topic!

From memory (again i apologise) the Compressor weighs in at 215bhp vs the 189bhp of the T-Sport. That means you are going to be paying roughly £4000 for an extra 26bhp. I'd personally look at a K&N Typhoon (or similar) and a decent exhaust system. That'll get you over the 200bhp mark and pretty close to the compressor and you'll easily have over £3000 in your back pocket.

[last off topic convo now]No i wasn't on the astrasport site as the car was old, slow and just a general embarassment! I did get a very threatening letter left on my windscreen once ordering me to go visit another TSport website. But it was from Gemma so I'm willing to forgive her :D

MiniMarc,

Did you have to do anything else with the K&N Typhoon? Im sure I read somewhere that you may need to reset ECU?

I was thinking about getting one of those but it costs a fair bit considering its coming to summer now and I was thinking panel filter would be the best way to go...

reseting the ecu is not tough job..... you only need to unplug the Battery before you start the installation and by the time you're ready it will have reset itself. regards what is best for the t-sport i cant tell cause mine is a normal vvti :(

ummm i don't have a typhoon. I was only suggesting it as a more cost effective way of improving power.
