First Full Service Xtr D4d

Hi

Anyone had a recent first full service on a 2yr old D4D ?

Had mine done yesterday for £147 at my local dealer , happy with that.

When I got home I checked what had been done.

The service and warranty booklet states that transfer and rear differential oil should be replaced at full service and also brake fluid replaced every 2 years but on another page contradicts and says brake fluid inspected at full service.

What I would like to know is if anyone has had a recent similar service could they check if the transfer and rear differential oil was replaced

Regards

Over 80 views !

No one had this service done recently then .

Had 70k done in March this year and was charged £119 asked about 80K major service as was quoted £190 all in....didn't ask local stealership to quote :!Removed!:

Sorry a few more miles than yours.....

Thanks for taking the trouble to reply chatman.

What I really wanted to know is should the transfer and rear differential oil be replaced at the first major 20,000 service . It was not done on mine but it states in the service and warranty booklet that it should.I just wanted to know if any member of the forum had a similar experience before getting back to the dealer about it.

Regards

Hi Lith,

I got my service done a couple of months back, mileage was 19900, age was 21 months (05 plate). They charged me £204,

just checked the service report which says they changed the rear diff oil, changed transfer box oil and they have also ticked

the box for changing the brake fluid. On the actual bill the diff oil does appear at a price of £14, but dont see any charge for

brake fluid ? Hope this helps.

Cheers,

Dave.

arrr sorry...When I brought the RAV two & half years ago it had its 40k service. They did the gear box etc then saying this was part of the service, so I expect at 80k I will get the same again. Also had the brake fluid done at 70k....

Rad fluid is as pink as can be and mechanic said was still fine......

Did you check the air con filter as these get very mucky....i'm sure a flock of rooks where using mine at night as it was filthy...(brought a cat and have had no muck splattered on car since....just a white cat with a hint of claret....  )

Thanks for the info Dave and for taking the trouble to check your records .

Mine had done 19300 age also 21 months charged £147 .It seems that (assuming you had it done at a Toyota dealer) my service was not done correctly by this Toyota service centre. The circle on the check list for the diff oil was filled in and not ticked like the engine oil circle. It would be interesting to know where I stood with the warranty if the rear diff broke within the next 12 months .If it is supposed to be done during the full service then I do not see the point of not doing it unless the customer asks for it not to be done.

Cheers

Contacted the Toyota service centre and was told that the rear diff and transfer oil is changed at 40000 .

Regards and thanks to dave and chatman for their replies.
