Hi i want to buy an induction kit and before i make my mind up i want to see what they look like fitted. I have a 1.0.

If anyone has a 1.0 with a:

  • Pipercross
  • Pipercross Vector
  • Powertec SL1

Please post up a pic of your engine bay with your induction kit fitted if you have one of the above kits or any other kit that i havent listed, the ones in the above list and the Greddy are the only ones i know of at present for the 1.0. I know what the Greddy looks like already so dont need a pic of it, but its a bit too dear for me anyway.

I appreciate any replies greatly

greddy kit is the best for the 1ltr.

it's expensive at £150 or so, but well worth it.

But it removes the stock airbox, because your just wasting your money on a kit like the powertec or pipercross, when it just connects to the end of the airbox like pic above.

Here's the greddy

The Pipercross fits exactly like the Powertec above. I've had both the Pipercross and the GReddy and I'd go with the GReddy every single day of the week. Save up some more!

im looking for an induction kit that does away with the airbox and relocates the filter, so Greddy it is then

my friend has a civic and he bought a universal induction kit for his car and got a relocation pipe for it

it sounds unreal and also it removed the standard air box

as i dnt ave £100 to spend lol

as long as you do it all properly and locate it somewhere decent so it actually makes a difference then go for it. i`d rather save up and get something you know will do the job right first time

as long as you arent that botherd about how the kit looks and you make sure to fit and locate it properly then no.

Your gonna have to put it on end of air box which is a !Removed! to fit and not that great to be honest!

Best bet is to get place to custom make you a pipe or get a tape measure out and see if one from a hose company fits the bill!

hmmmm .......... BALLS lol

is relocating it proper important?

or will just rippin the air box out, cuttin some holes in the pipe for the mass airflow sensor and havin just a straght piece of pipe work?

When you say relocation pipe you mean a relocation for the MAF? If so then yes it is important to have that as it is an odd shape so hard to custom mount! You can probably buy MAF shaped plates you would weld onto a custom induction pipe? no idea where from though!

does no one just supply the relocation pipe?

like say sr kid he had that K&N it comes with the pipe to move it away from the heat of the engine cant you just get them on there own?

Envy had that custom induction kit and although they don't have any left they MAY be able to make you just the pipe part? So the Blitz you bought is just the cone not the part with the MAF on aswell? (with my apexi you have to have both together due to the way they fit!) If it does have the MAF part you just use a short bit of silicon hose to locate it straight from the throttle body. That way you then just have a cold feed up to it and it's just as good which is how i will do it when i get my car back! (in some ways better as you dont run the risk of getting water in there!)

Think its just a cone buddy like the piper!

Try envy or find a K&N pipe with no filter lol!

You couldnt make one yourself and car would idle rubbish and prob kill your engine, needs to be tight fitting!

Relocation is important as you need to be able to put maf somewere and the filter and cant just fit from throttle body!

oh gash :| lol think ill ave to give K&N a ring tomoz n see if i can order a relocation pipe

They'll probably charge you close to K&n's whole kit so i'd try envy! Obviously check your cone would fit on it diameter wise!

Yeah try envy as you will prob pay about £150 for relocation pipe from K&N as whole kit is RRP at £220!

i tryed envy but got no reply :(

induction kit still hasnt came £17 postage expected it to be here next day but its 5 days later :@ grrrr

so if i just got a straght piece of pipe about 10 inches long and the right size to fit the kit and on the end of my engine, cut a hole for my mass air flow sensor and the other airflow thingy for it would this work? or damage anything?

You only need a hole for the MAF as you can bung a crankcase breather on the other one. But yeah you would need the exact right shape for MAF as it has to be air tight! Take the MAF out mate n have a look and you will see why you would really need a pre made MAF holder! Like i said maybe try looking for a MAF holder that you could weld onto a pipe?
