The left hand rear window of my Avensis 1.8 GL, 1998, keeps dropping into the door. I have managed released most of the trim but cannot remove the winding handle. Could someone please suggest how it is removed, I would be most grateful as it is causing me great frustration. Many thanks.

There is a circlip type clip holding it on. Pull some rag between the trim and the winder to dislodge the clip. Alternatively hook it out.
