hi guys , wifes got a 98 gx auto , book says turn off over drive and select L , but the 4x4 still wants to go faster , no engine braking . Am i missing something here ????? THANKS

Has no one here got an auto then and tried a bit off roading ???

don't have an auto RAV.... but have you tried an anchor?

Or even go down the track of what I had to do - I got my leg lengths measured as I kept walking in circles and had problems changing gear - sure enough one leg (the left one) is shorter than the other (ie the right one). Hence the clutch is a pain to deal with. Maybe the problem is reversed in this case?? Don't however use my doctors advice to use a walking stick as the B**^%y thing gets stuck between the steering wheel spokes.

As part of the major work on my RAV, I hope to sort the problem by being able to do 40 mph in 1st gear....!!
