hi guys , did a quick online search for supra insurance - import was £1097 , uk model is £ 403 - what gives ?????? i got 9 years no claims on top of being the wrong side of 30 .

where do you import owners get insurance from .

It depends what model you have.....

No one seems to want to insure mine! It would be far cheaper to insure if it was a mkiv TT as they know what they are...

I would NOT try lancaster. They have just royally stiched up my other half when she tried to claim.

Each claim is different Charlie... I could find you an unhappy customer for each of the main insurance companies and also somone who is VERY happy with them.

I had 3 cars insured through Lancaster and had to make a claim once as well and had absolutely no issues... :)

and for me this kinda explains why in the first few words....

its really the ones where ppl arent at fault but still get rogered by their own company that are important here imo

now... Fizz m8, if you can name a company that was really nice to someone who was a 100% at fault complete tit then that could be really handy. After all... if theyre nice to that person then they probably decent with ppl that arent at fault

Mine was me being at fault coming from a minor onto a major road with some traffic... somone let me pass and as i went to turn right a lady appeared to my left who slammed on and hit me.

Personally i think she was speeding but the claim still went against me due to the rules. Now I was at fault but i dont think i was treated badly? Quite the opposit in fact... got my hire care within 1 day etc... in what way do you mean treat them?

Although i wasnt a complete tit.. they were quite sympathetic of the scenario...

Regardless of fault, if you pay fully comp insurance you expect fully comp cover.

Admitedly the people at Lancaster are ok, its their underwriters that are utter C-nuts, either way we have not got what we paid for, and there will be a court case.

Too true matey.. it was close to a write off but in the end they reparied it.

Lancaster have a panel of underwriters they use though. ERS and Lancaster Classic are the 2 that i have used for my Celica's then MR2 Turbo.

just had 40 quid slapped on mine as im 'not a homeowner' roflmao... none of them are scrupulous.

maybe just opt for the absolute cheapest deal you can to get your car legal and consider the money saved as money towards any future incident...

incidentally.... motorquote did my import insurance at an extremely good rate despite slapping that 40 quid on .... price for fully comp was just over 25% more than the cost of third party with a company i cant remember the name of, but whom were definately pocket pilfering people without verifiable male parentage. For some reason i think theyre something to do with the TUC or theyre miners or summat and for another reason I think they must be based in Norwich If i could remember who they were id tell you definately not to use them....

or elephant online were the absolute cheapest I found when originally looking and Admiral were 2nd cheapest and never gave me a reason to complain though I never had to claim.
