Changing Steering Wheel On An E12

hi all,

im thinking of getting new sparco steering wheel for my rolla e12 as i dont really like the standard one, also since the steering controls dont work anymore since ive got an aftermarket motorised screen.

What do i need to fit the steering wheel in terms of a hub boss or quick release? Are they all universal and will fit the E12? I have an 06 reg corolla

any help or ideas will be appreciated!

If you do decide to go after market you will probably be losing your airbag which isn't a good idea if you ask me.

If you do decide to get one you will also need to find/sort out how to cancel the airbag error light on your dash.

And finally you will need to tell your insurance and as your removing a safety feature I imagine that the costs will be pretty steap

But it's upto you what you want to do

Yeah i was thinking about safety but i have a 6 point safety harness in my car, so i think the airbag going off would just break my nose lol! but if theres going to be problems like the airbag error light flashing and beeping, also the insurance then i think i should leave it!

Just ask your insurance company. When I asked about changing the steering wheel on my ae111 Corolla my insurance company said "OK just let us know when you've done it and we'll make a note" - no extra cost.
