Has anybody else experienced the ERR 3 code on the display when trying to insert/eject a CD? I've done some searching around and it seems to be a common problem on the Lexus 6-disc cd player but not on the single cd players like in the Yaris.

When trying to insert a cd, the mechanism wouldn't grab it in like it normally does. After a few attempts it took the cd, played it ok but when I took it out the same error flashed up, it whirred a bit (after the cd had ejected) and it wouldn't allow me to insert a disc again (cd grab mechanism not doing anything). Left it half an hour, tried again and it works ok. In the past I've had problems with it spitting a disc out a few times before playing it, but never this ERR 3 code.

Car is 2005 P2 so plenty warranty left. Haven't rang dealer yet as the problem isn't there now. Dunno if they'll replace it if it's only intermittant.

My parents had that error on there lexus, my advice is take it into toyota and show them proof of the error (eg picture) and they will replace it for you!

Well there's nothing in the Yaris Owners Manual about any error messages that may come up on the display. It just mentions that extreme temperatures can cause it to malfunction but we're not exactly in a tropical climate.

I take it nobody else has ever had an ERR message on their display!
