Small Update On My Celica

Well I've had my Celica for over a month now and have already done a few bits n pieces. First up was a Toyota service (£79 fixed deal for older Toyotas). Got a comprehensive checklist of everything that needed to be done etc and overall the car is very healthy. It needs new disks and pads front & rear soon which was expected...

Then I got my flat fusion wipers, JDM rear light clusters (which I was forced into doing the clear indicator treatment on as one of the orange lenses was loose!), personalised plates and clear side repeaters.

It was up for it's MOT at the end of May and the only thing flagged up was the brake balance at the rear which doesn't concern me especially as the brakes need doing.

After 3 hours cleaning and polishing on Saturday, here is the result! [edit: can't post pics at the mo... now sorted - see below!]

Looks great  How did you remove the orange lenses in the clusters? Does it not affect the way the indicator light is dissipated for the MoT?

Looks very nice mate. But I wouldn't park so close to the ashtray... Rust spreads. :D

There's a post somewhere on here and on the celica.org forum on how to do it, but basically I cut out the bottom of the indicator unit using a stanley blade, unscrewed the orange lens (1 screw), put the piece I cut off back in place and used silicone to stick it back together. Job done! Don't use too thick a blade to cut out the bottom of the unit as you will see the outline in the silver lining. You can barely see where I cut mine out. Then I got orange bulbs in Halfords (until I get some Silvatech bulbs) and they work fine. Passed the MOT without comment so I assume all is above board!

I wouldn't mind but there's two of them there!!!   I don't get to work early enough in the morning or late enough in the evening to have the carpark all to myself for mini photo-shoots I'm afraid!
