bogg standard. You cant take out an R32 easily with a TS. It was all sudden because i didnt notice his car and when i saw him try to take me i put my foot down and as soon as i hit lift i was gone and he wasnt catching up.

maybe he ws in the wrong gear... as you say... you werent pushing it to begin with so he would probably stayed in the cruising gear...

As you say.. you supprised him... simple as...

yeah if he was serious you would struggle. i went up against one a week or so ago. yes it was modded and i had him easily but they are way quicker than a std CTS.

Neither of us were pushing it at the beginning because there was a car between us but I moved off quicker so he must have seen me and decided he was going to show me up.

For an R32 i thought it would have had more puff than that

6.4 isnt really that fast. I'm not underestimating the r32 but we started racing at about 15-20 so the torque ratio would be much closer, plus in the ts at that speed it doesnt take a second to lift and once your in lift you dont drop out except for a split second when you change to second.

Off the line I would have no chance.

i h8 golfs.....here in south africa the r32 was just released and im sure we gona have some good fun with them..here in s.a we take out golf 5 gti's and ford focus st's easily with just havin a 63mm xzorst fitted to our cars..

vw here learnt that our runx's wer killin their golf gti 147kw and now started releasin their 2007 models boosted to 162kw and offering factory chippes to 177kw..

but our t-sports still manage to be infront..

hmmm maybe he wasn't trying hard enough?

I had a play with a compressor and in gear pulled harder but off the line i cant win but only catch up within legal speeds - like cat and mouse my torque band and power would get me back and then gear change again. In gear above 3rd T180 just pulls v.hard and was marginally faster each time.

I struggled with an R32, just couldn't overtake it on a dual carridgeway so gave up. Always nice to have a play safely and legally but i'm not a fan of racing or breaking limits, acceleration runs only and very seldom.

That said my most hideous moment was this weekend with a TVR. I thought i was doing quite well until i got to 50 and he kept accelerating as fast as to 40 but up to 110 (him not me, just a guess). Normally your acceleration slows down when you hit 65, that TVR doesnt, ****.

I went after the new focus ST at the weekend he ended pulling *20 on a local carridgeway kept up with him but he ended up gradually pulling away
