Mr2 Mk2 Problem

I am searching for an igniter for my MR2. After several garages and many perplexed experts, of which I am not one, I am looking to replace the igniter as the mechanic beleives this is the only possibility left. The part number required is 89621 12050 131300 2010 Denso. I am not entirely sure which part is the specific part number.

I am not full of confidence that this is the root of the problem either. It began misfiring and running very richly. It would then seemingly flood if I was stationary for any period of time. The exhaust then became quite dark and when the mechanic drained the fuel he said it was a milky colour. The current mechanic has by-passed everything apparently and had it running from his 'gear' and it runs perfectly. The ECU has been tested also with no diagnosed faults.

It has been in 5 garages since October and no-one seems able to diagnose the problem. Changing the igniter is a stab in the dark of a desperate man.
