... and it's 9 airbags

Frontal impact

Side impact

Pole test

Check out the lateral movement of the head on the Mark 1 Yaris compared the new Yaris.

With curtain airbags the head and neck stay in alignment and stay in the car!

Ouch...

It’s quite scary seeing what happens with moderate speed side impacts.

The T Sport might be going :crybaby:

had mine two weeks now and im loving it, i know its the 1.4 d4d sr version but had 17" league paradox wheels fitted yesterday and it goes really well, and at £35 a year road tax and group 3 insurance i think its top drawer, pictures will follow when i finish work in time to take some in the sun ...lol

That's a lot of airbags! But what would put me off the 1.8SR is its lack of power. It's slower than your t-sport after all (not much I know but you'd expect more from that 1.8  ) and I couldn't imagine changing my car for one thats slower. How does the Colt CZT rate on the safety front? Its had mixed reviews but it in performance terms it would be a step in the right direction.

i was on my break the other day and noticed the motoring section of the telegraph

seen an article on the new yaris SR

reading along

and they completely slated it :(

they said the only good thing was the looks !

and that they didnt like the lumpen power delivery, dull engine noise, the cheap interior, price and the mixed signals toyota have given it saying it is a sport when its more of a small family car :(

glad you like it mate because when i read that it anoyed me cause i just thought how can something that was so good the first time round go wrong?

has anyone actually driven one properly yet?

had a 1.8 sr for a three day test drive, it was a nice car but the 1.8 engine wasnt that all inspiring to tell the truth thats why i went for the diesel, it sat nice on the road, great looks, but my phase 2 t-sport yaris was bags more fun so i think mr toyota is so concerned with keeping emissions down etc that they heve lost the plot in the european hot/warm hatch market, where have all the great perfomance cars that toyota use to make !!!!!!
