Rav 4 No Instruments Battery Ect But Engine Was Running

hi

did a stupid thing left lights on called the rac...

boosted the Battery got it started okay, everthing seemed fine hooked up nav system did'nt appear to be lighting up the charge light.. put it down to the rav being intelligent and charging the Battery first drove off..

indicators did not work busy traffic no stopping area.......

then looked at the gauges nothing..

radio nothing windows nothing....

pulled over.. engine still running !

rac recalled

checked every fuse visable... all okay....

had to drive it to a garage with rac as a minder in front

anyone any idea's we suspect the alternator.. as i say we checked the fuses under the hood both sets and inside the car...

fault solved

circut board shorted out when recharging from other motor

resoldered running fine now!

Hi,

Just curious, was this caused by the sequence in which you connected the jump leads/booster ?
