Totaly Dead...anything To Check?

Hi all

just wonder if someone else has had anything like this ,, or things to look out for .

a couple of times last week i have gone to start the car and ignition is totaly dead..no dash lights at all, then after a few attempts it will come back to life and start.

You can write my mechanical knowledge on the back of a postage stamp but if you get no power at all ( headlights ect) could it be a dodgy Battery terminal connection I know its stating the obvious

have seen several posts on this site. seems that the ignition switch is prone to excessive wear and causes similar symptoms.

ahh thanks for the info ...will be checking the Battery terminals first ,,hoopefully that will solve the problem,,the ignition switch sounds a lot more expensive !

any advise if it is the ignition switch? new key and stuff need?
