Toyota Corolla 1.6 W Reg 2000 Car Alarm

Just got back from holiday and Plod had left a message on my answer phone regarding my neighbours complaining of the alarm on my 2000 Corolla going off for no reason. The Battery is new before I bought the car 4 months ago, so it is not that. Any suggestions are appreciated. Ta.

The newer corollas have a similar problem with the alarm when the wearther starts to turn warm. It's caused by the bonnet expanding in the heat which triggers off the pressure sensor underneath it in the engine bay. It may be a similar issue for your model too. Just locate the pressure sensor and stick a couple of washers to the underside of the bonnet so they line up with it, and hopefully that will keep enough downward force on the sensor to stop the alarm going off.
