Dent Devils

Well, a couple of weeks ago I returned to my Yaris to find that a careless person had opened their car door into the rear quarter of my lovely car :( . Its the price you pay for parking in public car parks but sometimes there's no choice!! It had left a 3cm long crease, perfectly straight - not the biggest dent in the world but they must have opened their door with a lot of force as it went in quite a bit. It looked worse the further you stood away from it  On the upside, the scuff mark managed to polish out.

Obviously I was gutted :ffs: and didn't know who to call. Although its only cosmetic there's no way I could just leave it! The car's only 20 months old so do I call Toyota and get a silly bodyshop quote or risk one of those man in a van outfits? After reading a couple of reviews on here, and reading their website I thought I'd give Dent Devils a try, all they do is dents, not paint, so I figured it was best to employ someone who specialises in PDR - or Paintless Dent Removal.

Phoned their 0800 number and logged the call. The technician for my area rang me back later in the day and arranged to come out just 2 days later. Sure enough he turned up on time (in a Ford Focus, not a van!) and set to work. (As an aside, I'd advise you to remove/refit any interior panels yourself as it saves time and you can be more careful about it!) I thought he would just sort the dent out from behind the panel, but there's also a lot of banging that gets done on the paintwork side. It looks and sounds distressing but the finished result is fantastic. You'd never know there was a dent there. There was even a fine indentation in the paintwork which he flattenned and polished over. The whole visit took just over half an hour and cost £66.

I can definitely say I'd recommend them and although I hope I never have to call them again, I'd have no hesitation in doing so

I used a similar company for a dent in a really awkward place on my car, also from a public car park. Can't see where it was at all. Great! :)

From what I could make out, the price is generally on a 'per panel' basis, so you pay one price even if there's a couple of dents in one panel  The website does say multiple panel discounts are available though.

Glad you are happy with the result. I've got a small trolley dent in my nearside rear door and a Dent Devil agent a few roads away.

Maybe after my summer hols if I've any cash left.

They made an excellent job on my previous Yaris when a drunken :censor: threw a beercan at it and put a couple of dents in my bonnet.......................£70 and not a trace of where the dents had been.

A bodyshop (Non Toyota) quoted £360 plus VAT

I've heard of a similar company that touches up chips, I can't remember who they were but they don't need to repaint the whole panel, keeping costs down.

How do they charge? Per panel as well?

Here's their website ChipsAway.

Be aware they can't always put it right for you though. They couldn't get rid of a scratch on my Caldera Red 1 litre Colour Collection Yaris as it was a "low hiding" paint. Basically, it's because the paint is like nail varnish and uses the undercoat to give it depth (like candy paints). They fill the scratches with paint so their method can't work on paints like this.

Always worth asking them though as a quote is free.
