Yes unfortunately it is true. The nearest now is the Skoda Roomster but not up to the level of the Verso.

I teach hand controls in a Verso and everyone who learns wants to buy the car. There are a few second hand ones around. Buy the car and use the Disability allowance to keep it going. Avoid motability unless you want to be controlled as to what you can do with your car.

Toyota have now moved to MMT and so none of their cars are suitable.

There was talk about a new Verso-type model next year, however there's been nothing confirmed as Verso sales were quite poor in comparison to similar models....

-I don't want aggravation of owning car, rather just put fuel in and let them worry about it.I agree with the theory of using DLA to finance own vehicle, but ,when the crunch of being helpless if car breaks down or has a puncture, plus use of replacement if necessary,at last minute opted for motability especially with 15000 mileage allowance a year..MMT is ok for me,I have full control of my hands, just legs that are k**ckered.

Looks like a Ford Fusion at moment,Roomster still a bit too small, but havent decided--6 months before I change.

The reason Verso sales were low was because you could never get hold of one. Toyota never had any on display.

There are many in my area but mostly sold by word of mouth rather than availability or advertising.

The MMT problem for many is the roll back when catching the clutch between gas and brake when they cannot use the h/brake because of the left hand being used for steering. Just too much to do with hands. Similar problems with auto handbrakes particularly Scenic.

I would have though the Roomster was larger than the Verso or Fusion? Maybe it is an illusion.

I do understand your views on Motability Phil. I often want to make adaptations to meet the needs of the client but there are restrictions and limitations.
