Yaris Pollen Filter

Now they are out of Warranty I Decided to do a service on my Yaris's.

The pollen filters were totally blocked.

I don't think Toyota have ever replaced them when it went to them for Service.

Disgraceful I think esp as I suffer from hay fever and like to breath clean air.

If they did not change them at 20000 mile service then they missed out on charging you £14 + extra for your service. My previous Yaris had it changed as part of 20000 mile service because it needed changing. Toyota check and change if required.

As you have found out they are so easy to change yourself

Toyota won't change the pollen filter unless it's totally black.

If you've got any leaves or small bits in there, give it a vacuum.

As I got my Yaris 2nd hand I'n not sure if it was replaced ever. I brushed it clean a couple of months ago, (that black dust gets everywhere!) & this weekend gave it a good vaccum with a Dyson.

The filter element is very fragile.................almost like a piece of flimsy plastic food packaging..............so care should be taken when vacuuming it
