Another Clutch Qs

Hi all,

I've have recently acquired my first Toyota, it’s a facelift Tsport in silver purchased from an independent dealer with 12 months Toyota warranty left.. It’s a lot nicer to drive than my Honda Civic Coupe. “Go Corolla”

Here’s my question to ask, hope you can provide me with some feedback: -

<>When I change through the gears from 1-6 at 3k revolutions the clutch does not make a sound ands it’s the perfect gear change.

<>Whereas if I put my foot down a little and gear change at 4.5 K revolutions its makes a “ping sound and there feedback in the clutch in the form of a vibration on the foot peddle” during the process of changing up or down a gear.

<>I noticed if I take the revolutions to 5k and change gears there is no pinging sound or vibration when the gear is changed.

I purchased the car from non – Toyota dealer which was a little cheaper in price but the down side was the salesmen didn’t know too much about Toyotas and when I ask him about the clutch he said it’s a “Toyota characteristic” is this true or should I take the car back to Toyota for a check up.

Thanks

its becoming a worrying traight im afraid. toyota clutchs are failing like there going out of fashion. could be that the clutch pressure plate teeth/springs are slightly worn. i have also changed the sincromesh gears inside the box itself bt thats a very rare situation

Thanks for the 2nd opinion; I probably book the car into Mr Ts for a check up to see what they diagnose.

If a new clutch is required, I hope there cover it under warranty and not class it as “wear and tear” which means I have to pay for the part :(

I keep you all updated
