Hey fair play to you mate. You are going to get your hands onto a quality and under estimated car mate.

Ok fuel wise Toyota would have set the car up to run on 95Ron so no problem there. By putting in 97 and 99Ron you will probably see performance gains but dont hold me to it.

Running in wise thats down to your own discretion. I've always waited for 1000 miles on a new car. Some people will wait 500 miles and others 200 miles. The choice is yours!!

Servicing cost Your best bet is to ask the dealer mate

Now the good part the lift. Now this is when you are driving hard and the rev's climb up to 6,000 rpm and the car will hit vvti and then the car will feel kinda light like you are floating it's a weird feeling at this point you are really moving my friend. I remember this when i had a courtesy car from Toyota and it was a corolla t sport awesome :yahoo:

Hope this has answered some of your questions

Congratulations on the new car.

Fuel - 98ron or higher, it says in the handbook and on the fuel cap.. I use Shell V-Power, although by law it should run on 95ron this will cause the engine to knock and prolonged use can cause damage.. again this is in the handbook.

Service costs - you won't give a :censor: because you will still be smiling.

Running in - I give a new car 1000 miles without going above 5K rpm or 80mph.. there is also some usefull info on this in the handbook.

High Lift - When the car reaches about 6000rpm the high lift cam comes into play.. this (as far as I know) lets the valves stay open a little longer allowing greater air and fuel mixture into the chamber, this gives a bigger bang and ultimately more power in the higher rev range.. unfortunatel as you have a supercharger you don't really feel it as much.. this is because you have that much power in the low rev range to begin with.

You are absolutely going to love this car.. as Jerry said, it is one of the most underated cars out there..the ultimate sleeper.. keep an eye in your rear view for Type R's

Whatever you do only put 98 ron and above defo not 97 or 95 or it will knock and not go as fast, plus it might send your ecu light on like mine lol Make sure your dealer knows that.

I didn't think you could buy one brand new? thought they finished last year! Must be stock waiting to be sold, i hope you got a good discount chap, these cars are dropping like stones at resell!

Hope thats not sounding too doom amd gloom, great car and welcome. Think i might buy a golf gti next!

Would this be a Compressor from Bentley's, Warrington? If so I'd be very interested in the kind of deal you've managed to get. I'm about to pay off the loan on my current car and am (still) mulling over changing to a Compressor. Any ammunition you could give me to beat them down on price would be much appreciated.

Just to add to the other comments, you can only use super unleaded (98) like it says on the fuel door.

If you put ordinary in you must get the ecu reset as putting higher octane fuel alone will not do the job.

I just had my second (20k) service and was charged £178 so that gives you a guide.

The lift on Compressors comes in around 5000rpm and not 6000rpm and is much gentler than on the T-Sport.

The car has to be warm to get any power, if it's cold it will hold back - be patient!

Mine has just had the latest remap from Toyota and the car is much livelier so It might be worth asking the dealer about that before you collect it

Hope this helps and enjoy your new toy

Chrisio what do you mean by remap?? My Compressor is just coming on 6 months old and i have always run it on Shell V-Power, 300 litres in 3 months!!! it would be cheaper to buy shares in Shell but who cares what a machine :yahoo:

Since day one I have not been totally happy with the way the car has run, even down to lower figures on the dyno.

After I contacted TTE last year the car went back in for a reflash and was a bit better.

As I do so many miles in it there were still a couple of quirks I didn't like such as a hiccup when accelerating hard from a steady cruise.

While the car was in for the last service I asked them to investigate.

When I collected the car the dealer told me that Toyota had issued a later ecu map for the Compressor.

I clarified that it was not the same map as before and they told me it had only just been released a few weeks ago and they had done another Compressor then.

I must be honest it's like a different car, with seemingly more power and a much smoother drive.

I'll take it back to the dyno when I have a chance to see if the figures have actually improved.

I would recommend that when your car is due back for its service that you ask them to load the new map as all the cars were built in the same period even some were registered later than others

Oh, and if you are using as much V-Power as me why don't you sign up for Shell Pluspoints (now called the Shell Drivers Club).

When you qualify you get points you can cash against things like Airmiles and Argos vouchers every time you fill up :toast:
