Hi all :yahoo:

I know there have been post discussing the standard lilght beam on the avensis being pretty much abismal....but no one actually has comented on how good or what kind of difference the 50% more light lightbulbs have made (if any) nor are there any specific coments on the xenon bulbs.....

SOOOOOOOOOO if there are any of yous out there who have changed your standard bulb on your Avensis (03 onwards) can you please let us know if it made a huge ammount of difference. As my local MR T wants £37 squid plus Vat to change one...

If this has already been discussed then sorry...guess I could not find it.

Thanks in advance....

Happy & safe driving to all

Hi i use my 2001 avensis as a taxi, and have the Halfords brillance set of bulbs and they're alot better than the standard ones in there. so i would say go for it, theyre not xenons with the glow or shimmer but they are most defo brigther.

Hi Nightstalker,

I live in Reading too!

I have the 'acclaimed' Halfords 50% brighter bulbs fitted to my T4

they do make a difference - you could have a look side by side with your car if you like

Previously autoexpress 50% brighter winner

http://www.autoexpress.co.uk/products/prod...0_per_cent.html

Though I would go for the new 80%+ brighter bulbs by Philips

http://www.autobestbuy.co.uk/shop/product.asp?P_ID=193

these apparently white wash anything before it (they weren't available when I fitted mine)

and then I can see the difference your new 80% bulbs make, compared to mine

This is Doug Campbell of Auto Best Buy here, just visiting the forum as I tracked the above link as being responsible for 27 hits on the web site. If anyone wants these bulbs I can offer you a 10% discount, just use voucher code AYSCX67. The voucher will apply to anything else on the site as well (except SatNav where the margins are too small to offer any discount)

Hope this is OK to post this. Will edit / remove it if it is not acceptable on this forum.

Thanks

Doug

Hi There

I had a bulb go in my 2002 Avensis, so replaced with Osram Plus 50% H7 bulbs (499SST, 64210SVS) which were £19.99 fom MDC here in Newbury

Fantastic improvement in both beam length and brightness - highly recommended, took about 3 minutes to fit.

You will not pay much more for the Plus 50 or 80% bulbs so I say go for it

Cheers

Buzlby
