heya folks.

Was wondering what rpm full boost should be in at? When mine comes on boost it seems to still be rising through 5000rpm which seems kinda high to me! Was wondering if the boost pressure is progressive / ecu controlled! or if i should be looking for a leak in the turbo to engine track..

Btw (not sure what pressure its pushing as i have only a standard gauge)

Cheers

Humm something not quite right there, should hit full boost between 3000-4000RPM. Get yourself a decent gauge the stock one is poo and slow as a slow sloth type thingy.

Regarding the stock control. The stock actuator is set for about 10 psi I beleive, then on the 205 the ecu can raise the pressure by using the TVSV to bleed off the actuator kinda like a bleed valve but the output is reconnected to the intake not to atmosphere like a bleed valve.

On the 185 and 165 the TVSV is a simple gate solenoid i.e. on or off, allowing around a 3psi increase over the stock actuator pressure. However on the 205 the TVSV is a pwm solenoid and the ecu is able to use it to progressively adjust the pressure from stock up to a possible 1.5 bar. You neer get that high with the Stock ecu though as fuel cut comes in around 1.2bar 1.5 is just the flow maximum of the TVSV.

Cheers for the reply..

Some time last night having a poke around tings. First thing i checked was the DV, which was found 2b leaking slightly, cleaned it up. Presto! one prob sorted. Was kinda confused by the 2 pipes going to the DV, from the same feed then split into 2 pipes, one with what appeared to be a one way valve (which wasnt so one way anymore). Over the shoulder they went and i made do with one pipe to actuator side of the DV, works a treat! Prob 2 sorted!

Road test.... still not boosting properly! waaahhh!

Back in the garage for further fiddlin.. was intending to take the IC off but to be fair i couldnt be ubikd in the end so left it till morning to bolt it up again.. anyway to cut a long story short i was doing up the the turbo - IC pipe when i noticed something not right.. the bottom part of the pipe had literally blown out! swear it wasnt like that before!! neways!! REEESULT! :yahoo: .... LOL i thought it was a bit noisy!

Tell u what! after i had replaced the pipe and seen the state of it, i was amazed it made any boost at all! the turbo must have been spinning its :censor: off to make what it did!

Check out the pic!
