After Owning a Mark 1 Mr2 on a G plate back in the day, I once again heard the calling! I've just bought a Roadster, a 51 plate in silver, This thing is absolutely unmarked, It still has the original spare tyre that has never been used, tool kits never been out, and still has original mats in great condition. It has the SMT gearbox and Twin Exhaust with unmarked blk leather interior. The things only done 20k miles with full history. Gave £7,500 for it. Deal or No Deal?

Which Brings me to my next question, Is there anything I should be looking out for now I'm in the Club as it were, any inherent problems, or things to look out for with this model, also want to clean and protect the roof the best I can as it's not the hard top version.

Any Advice would be greatly appreciated!

Welcome to the home we call TOC!!! :yahoo:

Good choice of car, sounds like a peachy one with only 20k. As far as soft top care goes, just search through the Roadster posts, it's been covered a few times here

There doesn't seem to be any common problems with the Roadster (don't mention o2 sensors Les!). Handy points and technical info are pinned to the top of this forum from helpful fellow owners.

Looking forward to a few piccies ;)

Enjoy the sunshine!!

Hello and welcome to MK3 ownership.. great cars.

Some usefull info can be found here...

Another problem that can occur is Pre-Cat failure, these are inside the exhaust header, Check your oil regularly and watch for white smoke coming out... also a white residue on the tail pipe tips. If you want to, you can either get the precats taken out or replace the header with an after market part.

Hi shorty and welcome to the club

What an excellent choice of colour

Like Davey said just click on the link and check out the info on that page ;)

One more thing to check ( I know you will any way) oil and water levels on a regular basis, weekly at least, even though it doesn't use any from one service to the next I do mine religiously without fail as this engine is not forgiving if run on even low oil/water levels
