I hold a pistol left handed but a rifle butt goes against my right shoulder. Use scissors left handed but cannot use left handed scissors! Can openers are never a problem. Using a right handed mouse (in my left hand!) at the moment. When I played golf I did it right handed. Knives and forks are held in the correct hands.

Oh and when I started playing the guitar I held it left handed then found it easier to swap to right handed playing.

Still rubbish at it as a result. :P

I'm worried that everyone uses pistols!

My dad told me in Victorian times being left handed was the sign of the Devil.

I use a fork in my left and knife in my right, but if I only use one, it's my left hand. I think that's being a leftie in a world designed for righties!!!

another lefty here

now this knife and fork thing I think us lefties do it right. you think about it if we use a fork or a spoon we use our left hand to put the food into our mouth. now a right handed person with a fork use their left hand to put food into their mouth then give them a spoon they start using the other hand whats that all about?

I've never understood left-handed people who insist that they can't use right handed things (corkscrews, can openers, scissors, etc.). If I tried using anything specifically designed for a left handed person I would fail miserably as I'm so used to using right handed stuff.

every year 225 left handed people around the world die from using tools for right handed people

They should ask for permission first then !

even told my nursery school teacher not to force me to write with my right... this was '79

I can use right handed scissors but I have to hold them funny. People laugh.

I grew up using right handed scissors & when I got to secondary school they had left handed ones & they were a nightmare to cut with, I haven't picked up another pair of left handed scissors since. The blades are a different angle or something aren't they?

Interesting list from Pompey Gaz there.

Possibly the most interesting thing on it is that most of the people listed are dead !

Coupled with earlier evidence presented I deduce that they all borrowed powertools.

A lesson for us all there methinks !
