Can anyone tell me how the ASL works on a 2007 T3-S?

I have switched it on, and triend it on low, medium and high settings, but don't notice any difference in volume as I increase/ decreasde speed..

The manual doesn't appear to cover this off to any great extent.

I have this sort of gadget in my Celica's aftermarket stereo. I think its set to medium.

The whole point is that you dont hear the difference in Volume. The road noise is vastly different in the Celica vs the Avensis, so the work done by the equaliser is more noticable - usually when you have just come off the freeway and stop at the roundabout - the volume sudenly drops a bit.

Basically, if you can always hear the music etc above the road/wind noise at a similar level regardless of your speed, then it is doings its job. I would imagine that it would not have a massive variance in the Avensis as the cabin is reasonably quiet. Perhaps open a window and see if the equaliser pumps the volume so that you can still hear it ok. I think the gadget works on the difference in db level of the radio to the ambient noise in the cabin, and tries to maintain that difference - scaled according to the sensitivity you set.

Not sure if this helps...

Regards

S

It does work. Mine is set to low and that's just enough to cope with the A180 concrete surface where I used to need to fiddle the volume up at least 7-8 points in any car. It just takes a second now for the volume to dip itself down again when you slow the car.

I think it may be that this car is quieter especially on decent motorway surfaces so you don't notice any massive volume change.

I regularly run the A180 and I hate it. Tell me more about this feature please. Like how do I turn it on. Just got my T-Spirit!

You just touch DSP on the touch screen audio display and set the level. Low seems to work OK for me but medium may be better if you like quieter music. :D
