After Lowering Car Is Wheel Alignement Needed?

Having now lowered the car on Gmax springs which I have to say have transformed the car, I have now been advised to have a 'four point wheel alignement' done on the car. Has anyone else heard of having to do this after lowering theres or is Mr. Kwikfit just trying to write his own cheques again?

Many thanks.

It is worth doing! But you can only have a two whel alighnment done! The rear axle is a solid beam so you won't be able to do any adjustments to it i'm affraid!

Your best option is a laser alignment, much more precise! DON'T go to mr T he will charge you over a ton for something that takes 15 minutes and usually costs around £20 squids!

The standard alignment settings ONLY apply to the STANDARD suspension setup.. you have put aftermarket springs on and as such do NOT have standard suspension. What you should do is get a FULL GLOBAL GEOMETRIC check carried out, this checks 15 different angles as opposed to the 2 just getting wheel alignment done.

There may not be much difference, it just depends on the type of springs and car.. and also how good a job is done, once you have the geometrics of the car done you will get a printout stating what the new tracking/alignment settings are, it is only then that you can compare them to the standard settings, if they are different keep hold of the printout and use the details for future refererance if you need your alignment setup again with the same suspension setup.
