Hi, Ive just found this forum its great.

Could anyone tell me are the abs sensors on the pre 2000 model the same or are they universal to either of the wheels, as the ABS light has come on.

I rang toyota garage not very helpfull bring it in could be one of 4 sensors at huge cost. I rang about fitting a new radiator last week toyota quoted £467.00

I purchased one for £63.00 and fitted myself so they charge a lot for labour,im hoping to save the labour again as dont have large disposable income due to new baby an wife of work. Any help would be great many thanks Marc.

take it to a toyota dealer who will test the system for you and find out which sensor is at fault - THIS IS DONE FOR FREE , then you buy urself a new sensor and fit it yourself, they are quite expensive mind ya , some where around 80 to 100 quid each . my advise is to check and clean all sensors and also check and clean the drive shaft ends opposite each sensor . a blast with a pressure washer should clear any debris , if its still no good , check all the wiring and plug ins see if anythings come undone.

a full guide can be found here - its for corolla but basically the same set up .Test the system yourself using the diagnosticsd port.
