Gear Gaiter

Hi,

How do I remove the gear gaiter from my T Sport?. I tried pulling the chrome surround, it did budge but I didn't want to force it off.

get a flat blade screwdriver or something similar and pry it off. Be careful not to scratch it.

You shouldn't break it, I took mine off when I fitted my shortshifter with no problems.

But it was a bit stubborn to get off.

I found the correct solution. There is a screw in the cup holder behind the handbrake, unscrew it and pull the console upwards and then bingo you can unclip the gaiter

Shortened the gear shaft and fitted a Fiesta ST gearknob. Looks really nice. Will post pics when I get a chance tomorrow. Now I need to buy a sparco leather gaiter with red stitching, that will set it off really nice.
