i'm in the same boat buddy. i'd get pally with a mechanic if i were you, us car fettlers can do wonderfull things given the right equipment :) i'll let you know what i do with mine, but a good mechanic mate of mine who is awesome with car electrics a,d ignition mapping reckons he can get mine to about 100 bhp without too much effort. i'm still waiting to give him the car for the day, then we'll see...

damn why did i spot this thread, i only want it for racking up no claims as my 1st car, but some extra ponies is oh so tempting

is it just me or does it feel like a lack of grunt low down? my nova 1.3 used to fly off the line, bot the rolla feels a bit bogged. still, does need a good service...

thats probably just the weight difference, it doesnt really fly but there is a little bit of play from 1-3, after that there is nothing at all, i use mine to get me to work every day though so economy and cost of running was more a factor than "can it beat some numpty at the lights"

that and at 65k i should probably get it booked in somewhere to get the cambelt changed

anything less than full throttle is wasted, but i'm still getting around 40 to the gallon. damn good car, and it will show its worth on the french run this summer (driving to lemans in august, after the race(dammit)and meeting my family back up north, 580 miles on the first day alone...)

i get about 35 to the gallon on a combined cycle and whilst i may not always be flat out, the back roads to work just encourage me to drive like the car has probably never been driven (and tempts me to get some better suspension fitted if there was a financial point, as boy does this car roll)

1st up is the headunit, and it appears your threads have done the research for me, will also likely replace the door Speakers as the whole thing sounds well, 12yrs old, getting fed up of using some cheapo ipod fm transmitter

watch out if you hack the original loom to wire your stereo in, do not connect the wire for radio illumination. it kills all the sidelights and dashlights. if your not a cheapskate (like me), buy a connector for it(like i didnt)

nah if i ever get round to it (had the car 3 weeks and still havent washed it, so may take a while to get this done) then id get any necessary adapters, bar maybe for the aerial, cos, well, tbh, i can live without radio quite happily

i've had mine a week, washed it twice (but it needs a polish) swapped the cambelt, installed the 2 subs and 3 amps (that might have something to do with no grunt come to think of it...) and the aieriel fit mine perfectly. have you taken the Sportif decals off the side yet? mine half went with a powerwash, so the rest went last night.

the silly logo in it has gone, as they went pink...and seeing as my car is dark metallic green it didnt really work, the sportif se writing is still there on the door panels, will probably take them off come wash time, they really dont suit the colour of the car, but at the same time its nice to let people know it is a sportif se hehe
