Autobox Display

Hi, I recently purchased a 2007 XT-R Automatic and I’m pleased to say that so far it has proved to be an excellent choice. However, as my RAV has an automatic gearbox I did consider it strange that there is no display indicating which gear (i.e. P, N, D etc) is currently engaged. Although this is a minor omission, every other automatic vehicle that I have owned had such a display. However, when browsing the web I can across the following site.

http://www.toyoland.com/car-reviews/toyota/rav4-2006.html

The picture half way down the page clearly shows an autobox indicator under the speedometer, located within the multi-functional display window. I can find no reference to this particular display option in the user manual and wonder if anybody with a RAV-4.3 has this setting displayed and if so how did they access it?. It is of course possible that this setting is only available in certain countries such as the US but I am at a loss to understand why this should be the case.

It isn't in the customise options although it does seem strange.

What does the dealer say?

Regards

Remember our cousins over the pond also have little stickers in the side mirrors telling them that the objects are behind them

They als0 refer to our "Gear Levers" as sticks...personally that's something I throw for my dog..... and he's not brought me back a gear box yet!!!!!

Hi

All I can tell you is that it seemed to upload OK and it opens for me.

You have got Adobe Reader have you? Alternatively, pm me with your email address and I will send it to you the conventional way!

Cheers

I’m out and about today on business and as suggested I stopped in at a Toyota dealership (unfortunately not my local dealer) and was told that there is no autobox indicator option on UK spec models of the RAV4.3. I’m not too bothered as I prefer the standard (current) display anyway. It’s just that if the autobox indicator was available it would be nice to know how to access and display it; if for no other reason than it would give me something to do when I’m sitting bored stiff in a traffic jam.
