I have a 2002 T-Sport which I have had for a few weeks. I love it  but the misses hates it :censor: .

I paid £ 5500 from the dealer a month ago, how much do you relistically think i can get privately for a quick sale, want to reclaim as much as possible.

I have just ordered a new auris to keep the misses happy so need to get shot of this quick

Its Thunder Grey, 68,000 miles full service history still with the remainder of the dealers 3 month warranty. 10 months tax and MOT, just had 4 new tyres before i got it.

Thanks guys

Well I bought a 2001 T-Sport with 60000 miles a month or two ago for £3900, that was a very good price though. I reackon you may manage £4700ish privately, but you may get more as they are quite rare cars.

Don't know about that ......

Over 5 years I'm sure the GF will cost you more ie meals out, buying gifts etc ;)

The T Sport will be more reliable than the misses.

Will cost less

Will go out when you want to

Won’t wonder off with another car

It’s disposition stays the same all month long

A T Sport’s parents never visit

T Sport’s can't talk

T Sport’s enjoy heavy polishing/rubbing in public

You never have to wait for a T Sport, they're ready 24-hours a day

A T Sport doesn't argue with you over the TV remote control

If you sell your T Sport, it won't take half your stuff...

Get rid of the misses... :yahoo:

Ok, back on topic, why doesn't she like the t-sport? Is it because the ride is too firm, it's too small?? Can't think of any other reasons why someone might not like it.

But, assuming it HAS to be sold, I reckon you'll lose a grand on it. It looks like you paid top book for it. £5500 for a 4.5year old t-sport with nearly 70K on sounds a lot to me. I reckon it'll fetch £4500 private sale. Did Toyota not offer you a decent part ex against the Auris?

She drives it mainly, but went from a people carrier to the yaris. She finds it both too firm and too small, she does like the speed however.

Toyota offered £3800 Part ex, thought i would try and flog it for a bit more privately as I have ony had it a few weeks, but I hate selling cars privately I always seem to attract the tyre kickers.

They aint rare.... you seen how many Thunder Grey T-Sports are on this forum.... there are more of them than anything else!

Anyway, if it helps, Parkers say:

Private Good £4,975

Private Poor £4,165

Part Exchange £4,570

Toyota offered 3800??!! They're talking out of their bumholes mate!

You next to never see them on the road though, and 3800 isn't too unreasonable as it's pretty much what I payed with less mileage, but you will get more selling privately.

But they estimate £4500 on a part exchange.... to lose an extra £700 is ludicrous!

I'd say that was downright unreasonable!

Remember that all the T Sports on this forum are from all over the UK and abroad. Put them all in their respective locations and they ARE rare

I’ve seen 2 this year!

Parkers is a good guide but it isn't the be all and end all - it's impossible for them to be spot on for every model of every car. You can always expect a few hundred either way. The best gauge of the market is to look at what similar cars are selling for on autotrader, and if they've been there for weeks, they're probably asking too much! Toyota offerred £3800 part ex, I'd put it up for private sale for £4500 but be prepared to accept a bit less. Regardless of Parkers, a car is only worth what someone is willing to pay for it

£3800 isn't that bad, I bought my Thunder Grey Tsport, 51 plate with 31,000 miles for £4250 a few months ago.
