Steering Clonk

I finally baught an ST205, there are a few things that i regretably didn't notice on road test.

The most noticeable and biggest problem is there is a big clonk, that i can feel through the steering wheel when steering. This is aparent when stationary or moving very slowly. I think this is the sttering rack :censor: could someone comfirm my suspision. I know these things are over a grand, is there sush thing as a reconditioned steering rack? Or is there a cheaper option to solve this problem.

When going over bumps or very rough road there is a knocking/rumbling sound for from the front suspension area, on both sides, any ideas?

When i really give it some it feels hard to get it into gear especially from 2nd to 3rd. And when i press the clutch sometimes i feel a loud clicking from the gear knob.

Any advise is much appreciated.

I had it up on the ramp today and the n/s front fig 8 had slight play, would this cause the noises.

Also i gave the rear wheels a shake and there was play in both (side to side and up and down), do these have adjustable wheel bearings?

How do i check the top mounts?

Does any have any advise on the steering clonk i mentioned earlier? can i get a reconditioned steering rack?

Cheers for the help
