Hi, mate!

Is there a way to keep the Verso on the road in strong winds? I haven't found a way, that's for sure :P Lowering would be the only way, I guess ;)

I have a Verso 1.3, I really like it. You can load a lot in there without problems.

Welcome to the forums.

Great car.

Use it for what it is made and fill it up.

Holds road quite well.

I think it seems worse than it actually is.

Have never actually lost it, although cross winds make you think you might.

The 1.3 auto needs the use of the overdrive switch off.

It then can be quite a smart drive.

thanks johnp

does having the button off affect mpg i would have thought having the extra gear would give you better mpg? i think i have got it right 3 gears off, 4 gears on, please correct me if i have got this wrong as this is my first yaris thanks mate

Yes that is basically correct.

Rather than use kick-down I use the overdrive switch.

I does affect economy, but I find it sometimes stays in 4th longer

than I would wish it to, esp when overtaking or climbing.

The main benefit is when overtaking lorries on a long stretch uphill.

A flick of the button and you are away instead of thinking

"I wish this would get a move on."

For normal driving I don't use it.
