Decided it's about time to brighten up my TTE exhaust.

Just wondered if anybody can recommend any good stuff to use on Stainless Steel?

My uncle builds show winning chopper bikes and he reccomends a product called Autosol.

AUTOSOL

Brings stainless steel up like a mirror.

You might have to get it from a bike shop tho.

Autosol is pretty good for cleaning up plastic indicator lenses too. Alternatively try toothpaste!

i used to use Autosol on my cars that deserved to be cleaned.. lol

Its a golden/black tube thing... you can get ti from Halfords..

i used to use autosol then i bought Meguiars metal polysh its ten times better imo smells nice too.

Which brand would you recommend? one for total protection, a whitening (prob not what you want) or ome that leaves your exhaust smelling fresh)

It depends what you are after, and what condition the metal is in!!!

Auto soll brings a "deeper" polish, it seems a little more harsh and if its an exhaust on a car thats been driven daily that needs bringing up, or getting an initial high quality finish on freshly buffed metal it'll be the best bet.

The Meguires Metal Polysh is not only spelt in an incredibly annoying way, but only effective if you already have a very highly polished surfafe to start off with, (I.E. you want nothing more then to remove oxidisation/tarnish) It also does not protect against future dulling like it says it should, but as it is fine, will ultimately give a brighter shine if used on a good enough surface.

Some of you may have seen that my engine has been polished on my car, its not quite mirror yet (my reflection is a little blurry), but its getting there, repeated application of auto soll will help me reach true mirror shiney ness, once that stops getting it shinier I'll go onto the meguires stuff (yes it does smell good). I tried some initially as it wasn't all that great...
