Window Switch?

This has been bugging me for a while,

On my MR2 you can put the window down and up without holding the switch, like an auto option by pulling the switch further. On the Yaris it only seems to work when making the window go down. Is it broken or is that normal?

Its an 03 plate T3.

It's normal.

The 'Power' funtion is for downwards only. It would be nice if it was on the upwards as well.

It works both down and up on my new Yaris (MK 2)

It was only down on my previous T3 though.......................Yet another Toyota improvement ;)

Yeah, I've often wished it would work on the way up, as I have it open through my village usually, then close it up when it gets too windy on the bigger roads.

Hi,

I am interested in this subject that i discuss :Dhere , "Setting up one touch on car who is not equiped"( the concept is valid for setting it up in the missing direction if only "down" is delivered ) i would appreciate comments on my proposal ...

To be honest, instead of wasting a day (or two) taking my doors apart, messing around with the wires switches fuses and any other electrical stuff I don’t really know about, I can quite happily live with the fact I have to hold the electric window switch in the ‘Up’ position for 5 seconds...

Another reason I like the manual ‘Up’ is that I have more control of when it stops.

With the ‘Auto Up’ feature, it takes me 2 or 3 attempts to get it to stop in the right poison

It either goes too far up then I have to press it down and it goes too far down, then up again and then down then I get fed up and open the sunroof instead!

I know it’s difficult having a manual ‘Up’ as my finger gets tired quickly.

If I’m really worn out I close my window in stages. Two or three seconds to get it half way up, then I give my finger a rest and prepare for the whole window closure for the final two seconds.

I know its tough but someone’s got to do it

But in the MR2 there are two stages for the switch in each direction, if you want more control then you dont pull the switch up as far and you get full control.

Just wondered why my 1991 MR2 has a feature that an 03 Yaris didnt!

Just think it is auto when going down for when someone 'lets off' in the car.

If someone 'let one off' in my car they would be kicked out and run over... Then I would reverse over them just to make sure
