Found these guys who sell the ECU's for the Lotus.

Note that you hit lift earlier with it!

Clicky

Surely there must be some way of achieving this in the CTS aswell?

If your looking into this be warey! First what engine are they using! Is it the Celica or Corolla 2zz engine! The reason the Celica has 2 ecu's, the corolla has 1. Plus, at that price it maybe worth having the Apexi Power FC! Least then you can have multiple maps for different situations

Anyway appologise guys with compressors, us standard CTSs are nicking your thread lol!

Anyway back to subject! I'm not entirely sure but doesn't the lotus have an Intercooler hence it can be boosted to 240/253 bhp!

Am I right that Lotus Exige have ITB ?

Hi,

I did it in TTC.pl, but I do not recommend this remap. Burnt sparkplugs and very high EGT. Reverted to stock after 20k kms. Fortunately no damage to the engine.

I do however recommend Greddy Celica GTS supercharger kit. Read on it on www.newcelica.org. I have no experience with this kit, but it is surely worth considering.

Marcin

There's the response from Poland folks,

Guess it's back to the drawing board!!

I contacted silverstone performance and it includes an intercooler, pipes etc and upgraded ecu.

Its alot to pay but I'm thinking about it.

Im going get rid of mine so im not going to bother with that kind of money, unless i can buy the bits and fit them myself

So could they just tweak the ECU then?

Might have to email them.

i also contacted them it may sound a lot of money but what would you pay for an intercooler and the pipe work ?what may be £800 to 1000 .then put an ecu upgrade or piggy back ecu what £500 to £600 and then a new pulley to raise boost then add fitting i think when you break it down its probably about right it does sound alot but if you were to do it in bits you would probably end up back at that sort of figure .and it also gets set up on a dyno.

Doing it in stages sounds good, i could install the bits at work myself.

i could do same as you install myself but setting up the ecu that i can,t do even tho i work in a garage you need the software to be able to set it up and a dyno also helps.not sure if there is a kit or would they be learning from doing the job as to what pipes and things they would need if they have the stuff on the shelf then they can find the piping to fit then work out a kit but probably need to do a conversion first to no what they need so any willing volunteers

Hi, sorry i havent been here for a while, I have no evidence that what I said is correct, I picked up my Compressor and before i drove it the sales manager did "the ECU" thing so I dont know if i have more power as it was the first Compressor i had drove. All i know is that what ever he did made the car bleep and the engine light flash 3 times and a audible beep. I have spoken to other dealers in the network who have also done this and they say it is an upgrade to 240, I'm planning a trip to the rollers to see if this is true.

I want to apologise if i have misled anyone...i'm really sorry, all i can say is my car feels really quick and has no problem keeping up with both the Focus and VXR Astra

There are rumours there is a 2nd upgrade to 260 but again this is unfounded!

Are you not going to share your procedure then, so we can test out the matter at hand? I mean, what are 'RRG' going to do to you? let us think, nothing??

Hmm sounds very similar to the reset thing but I don't recall hearing a beep? Just share he procedure then we will know for def, no need to go to the rollers as if it does give 240bhp it should be very obvious to us.

I didnt think it was an ECU upgrade that re-mapped the extra HP. I was told this at the end of 2005 when the first compressors came out. It was either:

Turn on the ignition, 1 before starting the engine... either:

- Press down the clutch fully for at least 30 or 50 seconds (5 rings a bell), then press the accelerator fully once

OR this rings more bells

- Press down the clutch 5 times 1 after the other.... and try the same method but press the accelerator fully after the whole sequence.

I would also try doing the same methods with the accelerator only, e.g. 30 sec / 5 times. I can only remember bits of what i am told and our compressor is gone now, but as chris mentioned the re-map and i was told this method i thought i'd add my thoughts now as they differ from Chris.

if i bought the supercharger kit from www.prolex-uk.com to put on my 02 plate t sport would i be able to use this procedure to give it 240 hp also found a place in the usa that does a smaller pulley for the charger www.urdusa.com so that should give it a few more ponies

You may, as you'll have the same ecu as the compressor! Pre facelift CTS and facelift CTS have different software version on their ECU's from my gut feeling, the reason being you can reset the ecu on the facelift by holding the accelerator down for x amounts of seconds (i think)! Something you can't on the pre-facelift! So the Compressor will have a newer version still!

But, imo i'm not sure that 240 is possible with the tte compressor alone! To get 240 your going to need the intercooler! Basically (my thoughts, so don't crucify me on this) You'll have a lot of problems, with emissions, pinking, misfiring, reliability etc etc! Your taking a highly compressed engine and putting more strain on it! So imo the only way to be safe is to add an intercooler with a remapped/new ecu! Like what they have done with the lotus!

If your going for a smaller pulley! You have another problem then! getting the right auxillary belt! Its not hard to get this thing to 240 and tbh I think it can probably get to 260 if mapped correctly, and adding some extra parts! High compression pistons (maybe), new cams (check the extra torque you can get here on these graphs from monkey wrench racing, a decent air feed, although an intercooler will help a hell of a lot, the colder the air going in the better so maybe a decent CAI (depends on the kit you get from silverstone racing).

Just my opinions people as I said! It'd be good to find if this map to 240 will work without the intercooler, i mean it'd definately be cheaper :yahoo:

So does this mean other Toyota cars are limited and if so is the D-4-D SR limited, cause I understand Jap cars are limited to 115mph anyone know?

Eh? Jap imports have speed limiters ;)

Plus you have a diseasel so what is there to limit?

As for the "240bhp ECU" that does not exist.

The only way to acheive that figure is having a supercharger and FMIC fitted.

Options for the CTS are either Silverstone Performance or Blitz ;)
