Guys need help!!

This summer my Yaris VVT-i 10lt (Model 1999)is giving me some trouble. While a/c is on engine stalls, excelaration hesitates and pauses not to say that sometimes all power is lost completely.I quite believe that on a small engine like mine, the a/c would reduce somewhat the engine's power,,but not at this point!!

Could it be that something went drastically wrong with the car ? Some sensor, electrical component or anything similar ? As in all these years i have never experienced anything similar.

Btw,,,car runs perfect with a/c off !!

I appriciate any help !!!

Cheers

Marcus

if it runs fine without the AC on, id guess your AC compressor is buggered, putting huge load on the engine, causing it to stall.

its probably siezed up or the belts sticking or something along those lines

just go ask a garage, they dont bite ;)

but make sure you chuck in a few techincal terms and suggest what i suggested, so it looks like you know what your talking about, otherwise theyll rip your arm off.

There is a switch somewhere in the AC pipework that signals the ECU to "idle up" - that is why the engine appears to rev slightly when the AC is switched on. Check there are no plugs disconnected or if you can find it (I don't know where it is on a Yaris) disconnect it and give it a squirt with WD40. You may need a new switch and in that case it may require a complete re-fill.

As previously posted it might be something to do with the pump but I would have expected severe drive belt damage before now.

Good Luck and if you want to cool down come to the UK!

Cheers
