ok

i am looking at putting a sub or 2 in my aygo. but i have the space problem !

i am a little off putting one in the boot for 2 reasons.

1, i would like to use the boot

2, people have said it is a lot of work and there is a lot of rattaling

then i have the option of putting 2 low profile 8" sub under the front seats (£300 for pioneer subs & amp). but then i need a encloser making (£80 for 2)

example pioneer GM-5300T & 2x TS-SW841D

or a active sub or 2 under the front seats, sonds good but i have no idea how good they are in comparason. cost will be £200 - £300

example pioneer TS-WX11A

please can someone who has any of these give anyadvise ?

I would recomend a boot enclosed woofer. The aygo does not rattle that much considering its an "eco" car.

If you still want to use the boot i would use a shallow mount subwoofer, such as the Kicker CVT10"/12" in a custom made box. As the boot in the aygo is quite deep (hight wise) you could make a shallow but tall box and still make the box to the woofers prefered dimensions.

The 10" woofer can be driven in anything from a .8cu ft box (sealed), so it shouldnt use too much space, plus you would have all the added benifits of a seperate amplifier for much better control of the woofer.

The 10" driver can take roughly 400watts RMS so you dont need a huge amplifier to do the job.

Luckily a good friend of mine is the owner of a company called Absolute Audio (they built my g/f's aygo's install) they are a leading supplier and installer of Kicker and MTX equipment, so if you wanted to contact them they could tell you what the best thing to do is!!

There website is:

www.absoluteaudio.org.uk

In the gallery section is the photo's of my aygo.... not that it is the sort of boot install you want but it gives you a taster of what can be done!

Do you have a rough budget in mind?

Hope this helps u!!

I have a Pioneer TS-WX11A under the passenger seat of my Aygo,

driven by my Kenwod KDC-PSW9524 and I really like the sound.

I'm still using the factory Speakers, but upgrading to a better HU made LOADS

of difference. I only missed true bass, which I now have with the Pioneer.

Here's what it looks like:

And this is the HU that controlls it all:

my budget is £600 max over 3 months. but i think will need a yellow top Battery out of that as i have a 7" TFT on it's way.

i thing i need to go and have a look at an active sub, just to a look as they would be great if they are as good as what a couple of people have said.

I paid less than £100 for the Pioneer I have installed.

As for the battery; a 7" TFT doesn't draw THAT much power,

so I think you can save some dough by NOT buying a Yellowtop (yet).

thanks , i'll defantly put the Battery on hold for now.

I see you have a nice bit of black trim around the custom headunit to make it all look smooth and natural. Where can I get this from in the UK do you know? Im planning on fitting new HU and SUB for now. Speakers to follow. Thanks

Any car audio dealer can get you one or you could go on eBay, there is always a few on there!

I got mine from my Dealer when I bought my car.

He had to get it from Peugeot, as in The Netherlands ALL Aygo

have a standard radio, so Toyota do not carry the bezel...

Yes and Yes.

It will fit and the price is reasonable, except with shipping it might be expensive;

you could also pop into the dealer's (Citroen or Peugeot) and get one there...

I have a question, sorry for being so stupid? How on earth do i get the CD player out?! I cant work out how to remove the plastic housing for the factory CD player. :s i feel silly. haha. If any one could shed some light that would be great thanks.

You have to take out/loosen the entire piece of plastic the radio sits in.

When you do so, yuo'll notice two sets of catches on either side,

press those in, then slide the radio out the front.

Removal of the top of the console is quite simple:

-pull off the fanspeed knob

-unscrew the single screw you see

-pry the blackich plastic away from the lighter color with your

fingers, starting ath the front, working your way back and up.

By this time you'll probably have enough space to remove the radio,

if not, reach underneath and unplug the switches for rar defog, hazzard and A/C,

then pull up further, unplug the radio (2 ISO-pugs on the left, one anntenna on the right)

swing up the entire bezel untill the hook in the middle disenngages and you're done.

Looks something like this then:
