Engine Skip.. What To Do

Hi,

I went on a 1000 mile journey and came back to find the engine oil almost past the minimum line. Gave it a quick topup but since then I feel the enigine is missing. what do you think is happening. can i do a DIY to fix this? its corolla X reg with 57k on the clock.

get to your local toyota dealer if you have a full service record you may get a new engine under warranty

Did the oil-warning lamp light up while you were driving?

It's not a big problem to run with less oil than the oil-pin asks for, the problem is when the oilpressure is too low.

Usually, the oillamp lights up when the pressure is too low - and that's when the problems start raining down on you!

Mine have lit up 3 times the last year... Just put some more oil in the ***** and on we go!

And it's still driving as it should, even though the clock says 280.000'ish km's ;)

i did topup asap and the oil lamp didnt light up. here is what i am experiancing. during driving all is fine until i am on a Higher gear than i shuould be and low revs. Previously the car would slowly pic up speed, now it starts to ***** and then i quickly put it in right gear and all is fine.. do you have any idea whats happining?

I'm no expert, but I would try changing the fuel for a couple of refillings

Go for some special, I don't know if you british guys have Shell Vpower, Q8 Dynamic and what not - try it, it would be my best guess :)
