Big Flat Spot After Making Induction Kit

Hi there i have had my ts for one month now . Looking at some mods on eBay the yaris induction kits are a bit pricey so been a very tight Yorkshire man a got a cheap toyota mr2 kit and cut it down to size. mounted it on the end of the standered air filter pipe removing the air box having the new filter resting on the top of the lower half of the old air box. Sounded and looked ok until test drive , it had no power at low revs big flat spot is it because the filter is too near the air flow meter , or will the ecu need reseting, or just a u/s air filter. felt like very weak miture ?

Just put the standard air box back on or buy a kit designed for the Yaris!

These things are designed for a reason...its not just guess work.

One of the best air filters for the yaris is the apexi, and it's very cheap, funky styling sell it for £110, or used to. But apexi went bust again, so you may have trouble finding one.

That's cheap compared to the likes of the K&N and top end Blitz Kits.

Although Blitz do a nice kit for around £120.

I don't know what your budget is, but save up for a while and get a decent kit, it will save you having any more problems.
