Hi

Name is Mike, just bought from e bay, a r plate avensis gls 2 litre,

69000 miles i am 3rd owner, sad story to why it was on e bay, son was selling it as his dad died last august, car had not moved until last week, was put in for mot needed 2 front tyres and new Battery, i payed 1100 , car has some like green mould around boot surround .

have i got a good price, and anything i need to be aware about running one of these, car runs fantastic, lovely and smooth and everything seems to work

Well looking on Autotrader at similar Avensis it looks as though you got it at a good price!

I used to own a 1999 2.0 and it was very reliable indeed. Only failure in my 4 years of ownership was a faulty alarm. I did however suffer from steering wheel vibration at 70 mph and never suceeded in fixing this despite new disks, tyres and balancing etc. Hatch struts tend to groan a bit and this is a common problem. Not too bad on petrol as long as you are not too heavy on right foot.

If your car has been stood up for several months I would be inclined to get a service and make sure all fluid levels are ok.
