Just a quick one re Fuel consumption & our 6th gen - just got 61 miles out of £10 petrol at 94 p litre around town driving - does that sound about right?

Anyone else?

yeah, 26 mpg that works out at, very good for town driving, have never gotten over 23mpg around town.

Would be nice to see petrol prices back down to 80-85 p litre (atleast) - that'd make the Celi more tolerable petrol wise - we've come from a 1.4 engined car turning out 38 mpg average (33 mpg round town) so it's been a bit of a hit - but then again, you get a vastly improved driving experience with the Celica over the previous car, so can't moan

Did about 260 miles yesterday, dual carraigway and motorway, returned 33mpg, wasn't too hard on her but did drive on a bit at times. I imagine at a constant 60/70 mph she would return 40mpg, would need to have plenty self control though

Did about 190 miles yesterday, dual carraigway and motorway as well (and some nasty london city driving), bizzardly it only took me half of tank.

I have extremely accurate 10000mile averages of 34MPG and 28MPG and a combined figure of 31.2MPG with every single tank being filled to the brim. The most I've had out of a tank is 428miles. But remember, values may vary greatly from car to car.

Currently on my 1st tank in my ST205... It's not looking good! :g:

  • 4 weeks later...

Some recent figures:

Mostly Urban/Suburban driving

For £50 of unleaded - 313 miles & 318 miles (roughly 53 litres at 94p litre) - 2 different tanks

For £50 of V-Power - 315 miles (roughly 49.5 litres at just over £1 litre)

I kept it to £50 amounts to keeps it simple - (obviously tank can do 7-10 more litres ish)

So am sort of doing around 25.5 - 26 mpg - 95% Urban/Suburban and 5% motorways.

Not bad considering that's 95% "stop/start" gear-change driving.

Get about 28mpg running around the way I do, I have had 37 mpg average over a 500 mile run which I was well pleased with.
