I'm seriously thinking of buying a Japanese import Toyota Lucida 2.2 Tdi around 1997-2000 vintage...

Are there any mechanical issues I need to check when viewing a vehicle, and what sort of MPG figures can I expect from this engine/vehicle?

i own a lucida 1990 model. commnon problems would be overheating due to waterpmp problem and turbo (if diesel).
