Loud Knocking Noise And Lurching Forward Problem.

Hi,

I've just registered though I've owned my Hilux 2.4D 4x4 pickup for 2 years now (I love it - the best thing I've ever owned!). The other day it starting making a really bad knocking noise like something had come loose. Then it started lurching every now and then. It seems to be making the noise from the rear axle somewhere and is worse when I'm pulling away and turning. I was told it could be the rear diff or maybe a driveshaft? Can anyone help me?

Thanks in hopeful anticipation...

S :help2:

Sounds like a UJ on the propshaft, have a look under the rear and see if the joint is slack.

Give the prop joints a good fill of grease using a grease gun.
