My Poor Compressor

I drive my compressor very hard and i am noticing a few niggles now. There are a few squeaking noises plus the left frnt wheel feels and sounds like its rumbling. It has a hard life and i wonder if it can really cope with it? being basically a corolla hatch for old people!

It may be a bearing or a dragging brake caliper.

Just take it back to Mr T as it's still under warranty.

As for an old peoples Corolla hatch, well you should do some research on what TTE did exactly to the car to make it handle the power

I meant the basic corolla is an old peoples car, well thats who the majority of my customers were lol. I know what TTE did but i personally still think its not hard cor enuff like the civic. It still is based on the ultra soft chassis! That needed more work me thinks!

I do have to agree with that - the chassis could be better. I loved the compressor when we had it but it didnt feel as composed especially at speed. Fantastic car really for its 2nd hand price but 19k was a tall order. 15mil lower and uprated springs wasnt really enough. It should have been lower with double wishbone rear suspension and better brakes.

I do worry about the longevity of the super-charged engine. You are putting extra force into that engine and you wouldn't expect it to last too good anything over 80k. Having said that i'd still have one if distance wasn't an issue but would probably be more inclined to go back to a t-sport - the lift was always fun. Thats why the civic's 2.0ltr v-tec cam's are fun - the lift but more of it, coupled with agility, just very hard.

Amusing though, following a type-r the other day in my T180

Fair comment but that's half the fun, people don't expect a Corolla to have performance so it's a nice stealth car

I used to have a vauxhall vx220 and i miss it like mad. However, this is a better all weather car! Its just i miss the vx especially after i watch the grand prix's. I used to go out and have a blast around. But the one thing i will say is that for £12,600 it is a lot of car and speed for the money! My colleges at Toyota used to hve a go at me cos i used to say i would never pay anywhere like list price for a new one, not when it is competing against the golf gti, astra vxr etc. But i would totally recommend it second hand. What else can you het for the money?

UPDATE:

Took it to MR T last night to check my brakes. It needs front pads and discs, rear discs skimming and something else is over-heating on them! the car has done 3500 miles :o

Good job im getting it done under warranty! That is a lot considering how low the milage is!
